Lucy Lawrence is frustrated with her job in a coffee shop but there are few professional jobs out there as she’s graduated, like the rest of her generation, into a dismal economy. Her inability to get something she wants only compounds Lucy’s natural insecurities.
Then on returning from work Lucy disturbs an intruder, Charlie, who claims to know Lucy’s friend Elaine although Elaine hasn’t heard of him. After this intrusion Lucy finds jewels under the spare bed but before she has a chance to take them to the police they mysteriously disappear from the flat.
Lucy takes action to uncover what lies behind these strange happenings and in so doing begins to take control of her life.
Along the way she teams up with Gregor, a social misfit whose behaviour falls along the Asperger’s spectrum. He has no obvious occupation and wanders around in large Crocs and jogging bottoms but he’s intuitive and smart. They make an incongruous pair but forge a strong friendship whilst trying to solve the mystery.

I wasn't familiar with this author so didn't have a clue as to what to expect. Once you caught the rhythm of Lucy and her cohorts, you knew you were in for a ride. Poor Lucy, everything seems to happen to that nice girl. Things don't often go her way. This makes you put on your thinking cap if you want to solve the mystery before the detectives. This is a very good read. It might not make it to your forever space, but definitely needs a second or third reading.Product details
