This story centers around Katerina and her older brother's best friend Josh. She's known Josh all of her life and considers him part of her family, so when she decides to attend a BDSM party she is shocked to discover Josh is there and is actually a Dom. Josh is equally as surprised, and realizes that his attraction for her is real. They soon discover there is an undeniable attraction between them.The story gives you a little background on the characters which is appreciated and helps build the sexual tension, making their encounter explosive. The story is well written and descriptive. I'm still a little undecided about whether I liked jumping into the heads of both characters in a 1st person narrated story. I appreciated reading both sides of the story, but it threw me off a little bit in the beginning until I became used to it.
The story left me wanting to read more and I anticipate this to be an excellent series.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story and am completely hooked to find out what happens next. Beautifully written and a pleasure to read. I can highly recommend getting caught up in the lives of Kat and Josh.
Wow!!! This is a story that is sure to capture all of your attention! It will have you crying out loud, cheering for everyone involved. I have the next installment and am so excited to read it!! You will love this!
Enjoyed this author's style of writing and humor. Doubly enjoyed the altering POV. I read this and book two back to back, since finishing this wasn't enough and I needed more.

Loved the concept - girl knows boy, goes to masked bdsm party, meets boy and discovers he's a dom, and much to both of their surprise - they're both into it. And each other. Josh and Kat have make-your-knees-weak chemistry, and although this is the first part in a series, it's wholly satisfying (while still leaving you wondering what happens next!) An enthusiastic two thumbs up for this new-to-me writer - will be checking out more, for sure. Definitely the sequel!
What can I say, one of the best book I have ever read. Jordan Bell has written a masterpiece where you can feel the chemistry and sexual tension between Kat and Josh within the first chapters of this book. You are a peeping tom watching the tension and actually hoping these two get together. Than it all falls apart when Josh's dark secret life is revealed and Kat except an invitation to a BDSM club to explore options.
The relationship they had before this party may never be the same. Can Josh except that Kat is his perfect Sub.
Can't wait for the story to continue. I love both Josh and Kat. Josh is a master at what he does.
The Submissive Behind the Mask is a story written in alternating first person narrative (Kat and Josh) about forbidden desire. It is well crafted, short but complete and thoroughly enjoyable. Katherine (aka Kat) has known Josh, her brother's best friend, for years. He's like a brother to her. But when she decides to attend an unusual Halloween-slash-bondage party, and learns Josh is a dom attending the party, everything changes, not only for Kat but also Josh. Kat is determined to take advantage of every opportunity she can to explore and experiment at the party, but Josh cannot stand the thought of another dom touching her. He struggles with his feelings of protectiveness and deep desire, and I think it's this conflict that makes their chemistry so explosive between them. When they finally succumb to their attraction, the encounter is sizzling hothothot. I WILL be reading part 2!
Kat is a free spirit who has a job as a graphic artist and she definitely walks to the beat of her own drum. Her bossy and uptight older brother doesn't get her artist persona. Josh is the best friend of her older brother whom she's known forever. Kat feels comfortable with him, flirts with him and generally has him wrapped around her little finger. But, she's yearning for something new, so she signs up for a BSDM trial. Kat is curious and wants to see what its all about. She runs into Josh and the story really begins.
I liked the characters and their quirks. Everyone was believable and I can't wait to read the next installment. Good, descriptive writing.
