I enjoyed this story. I liked seeing the characters develop as they got to know each other better. I haven't read a lot of pirate stories but this one appealed to me. I would recommend this book to anyone looking for a quick and easy read.
Wonderful book! Swashbuckling hero, likable heroine. Some fine intrigue and drama. This book was just plain fun to read, and had some excellent details about pirates and politics to make it come to life.

Prepare to be swept away on the high seas with this exciting romance. This was my first book by Tamara Hughes, and it won't be my last. Charity and James enthraled me from the first page, as did the lovely, adventurous plot. If you love a swoon-worthy read that will transport you to a different time and place, this one is for you.
Oh my gosh, I absolutely loved this book! It was so much fun to read and I couldn't turn the pages fast enough to find out what was going to happen next. Tamara Hughes does an excellent job bringing this time period to life and I found myself learning a thing or two about pirates, the Royal Navy and the code by which each lived. James and Charity were a delight. Charity's strength and independence were a challenge for James who wanted to provide and protect. The push and pull between the two added to the joy and excitement of the story. I was really sad to come to the end of this book. Truly, I just wanted it to go on for many more pages and I certainly look forward to more enjoyable reads by Tamara Hughes!
This is the first book I've read by this author. I generally like stories with Pirates and, of course, the beautiful cover just helped to draw me to this book. The story of James and Charity is amazing as it develops. James is all you'd want a hero to be in a story- charming, amused by the heroine and her antics, caring and highly protective. There were a few times in the book that I was a bit unhappy with either character but what relationship doesn't have its flaws? The story had a good pace and kept you intrigued. I loved the banter between the characters and their hidden interest in each other was just enough to spice up the book and keep it flowing. I appreciate how this was not over the top but was just the right mix to keep you reading and wanting to know more. I also appreciate a good love story that stems from a deep, abiding respect of each character and not from a "toss in the hay." These two actually loved each other and it made for a great romance. My thanks to the author on a wonderful adventure!

James Lamont finds her hiding place as he searches for his brother. What is a lady to do when she's at sea with a pirate? Tempting the Pirate is filled with romance and adventure. Charity is such a feisty woman. I loved that she stood up for herself and fought for what she wants. James is a wonderful hero. His compassion is touching. He will protect Charity. I fell in love with this brave man. The battle of wills soon leads to love and trust. The secondary characters are a powerful bunch. The Judge personifies evil and does his best to kill both lovers. The setting was perfect. The isolation added to the danger. I'm looking forward to learning David Lamont's story. Tamara Hughes did a great job. She had me hooked from the first page with this well plotted story.
